2010 LA Comedy Awards Nomination - Most hilarious female comic.

Her acclaimed one-woman show “Fried Clams with Bellies” was performed in front of sold out audiences in Hollywood. Browne then took her show to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts and also performed it for The L.A. Women’s Theater Festival.

She has also appeared on America’s Funniest People, Comedy Time and Que Locos Comedy Jam. Browne has toured as a Stand Up Comedian nationally and as a USO performer in Asia and Hawaii. She was a finalist in California’s Funniest Female Contest in 2005 and voted Favorite Comedian by Boston Metro Choice ’s Newspaper during the 2006 Boston Comedy Festival.

In 2007 Browne launched “The Merry Wives Of Comedy”, a Stand Up Comedy Show, featuring some of the Nation’s Talented Female Comedians. The successful co-production of ”28 Very Funny Females” and her many other production and hosting activities was a great jumping point for this adventure. The first show performed in from of sold out audiences in Martha’s Vineyard, MA.

Browne’s film credits include Danny Devito’s Blockbuster film How High, Sunset Park, and Deirdra’s Party and a new short film “The Garage Sale”.

Hope you're doing ok this holiday season. We are gearing up for a fabulous 2010 monthly feature night, showcase series starting January 31st at Suzys in Hermosa Beach. Thank you to all of our 2009 participants you were and continue to be such a great joy to work with especially Perry Kurtz!!

Perry was our 'headliner" host, yes we have headliners as hosts. We love you Perry you're the greatest. Who can forget Perry took the stage 13 times, after Robin Williams performed at the Comedy Store in Hollywood, and he's worked with every major comedian in the business, including writing for Leno. We look forward to seeing you again Perry.

Don Friesen headlined and tore it up as did Jann Karam, (Celebrity Achievement Nomination) even though the crowd was sparse. LA County was experiencing the biggest wild fires in history and the Emmys red carpet was competing with us pffft. Really, it looked like a nuclear bomb went off in the LA basin literally, but the show went on, everyone was well dressed, polite and had fun.

Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Honors LA Comedy Awards

LACA's first Hollywood Chamber of Commerce mixer was a huge success. The event was held at the world renowned Hard Rock Cafe inside Hollywood Universal Studios, City Walk Complex. As I walked into Citywalk, there's a 100 foot guitar and a big screen TV blasting out Queen, we are the champions. Inside the rotunda of the Hard Rock was hundreds of famous musicians pictures, instruments, and clothing items inshrined in display cases. in the center was a Cadillac spinning around above a circular bar!

The upstairs lobby level was filled with Hollywood Chamber of Commerce members all having a good time. I went up signed in and received a warm welcome from all the Chamber staff. The raffle was big, lot's of cool prizes and a pair of Fleetwood Mac VIP comps for the grand Prize. I schmoozed with a producer from Beverly Hills, made a date to discuss bringing LACA to the highest it can go in achievement. Heard on the grapevine Tom Driesen, Frank Sinatra's opening comedian has a script, big iron in the fire. Imagine those Sinatra back stories. Tom opened for Frank his entire career.

The Chamber gave out small grants to 501-c3 non profit groups, and then recognized new members including LA Comedy Awards!

Marlee Matlin was honored with her Walk of Fame star on the famous Hollywood Boulevard on May 6th in front of the historic Musso & Frank Restaurant. The audience consisted of many deaf fans of the Oscar® winning recipient, and the Hollywood Chamber hired Connie Schultz, an American Sign Language interpreter for that specific reason. The children with the International Center of Deafness & The Arts sang the most touching performance of "Over the Rainbow" in sign language! Henry Winkler, who pretty much discovered Matlin when she was 12, spoke about their relationship and how when she was of age and ready to get into show business moved in with his family and didn’t leave for two years! Matlin responded, “The food was really good!” He went on to read a poem Matlin had written as a teenager which he has kept for many years. The poem spoke about her being a star and signing many autographs for her fans and a look into the future of an aspiring actress. Jack Jason, her interpreter for 24 years, was by her side and translated Matlin’s speech for the audience as she signed it. Family and friends including her four children were on hand for the event. Celebrities attending included: Jennifer Beals who played her lover in “The L Word,” “Dancing with the Stars” colleague Marissa Jaret Winoker, Tony Award winner for Hairspray. Also in attendance was Fabian Sanchez, Matlin’s “Dancing” partner was at the celebration and together they put on some dance poses on her Walk of Fame star!

Matlin was also honored the next day at the Chamber's Hollywood Community Foundation luncheon with the coveted Mary Pickford Award. From Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Hollywood Business Advocate.

The Los Angeles Music Awards, called the longest running red carpet event for independent musicians in the world, has an eighteen-year history dating back to 1991. He's also produced such diverse entertainment as "Richard Pryor Live" The Movie, along with smash Broadway Plays as "The Odd Couple" with Tony Randall and Jack Klugman, "Fiddler on the Roof" with Zero Mostel and "The King and I" with Yul Brenner, to name a few.

A 4-minute music video was shown featuring the incredible achievements of Don. Also a performance from, coincidently, Cliff Morrison, the son of the Late Great Jim Morrison. Don's professional promotional career began with the Doors.
